Paul Crockett, FPIA President and Asst. Treasurer Paul is a year-round Maine resident with a home on Pond Road and a camp on Russ Point where his grandchildren are the 6th generation of his family to enjoy that camp and our beautiful pond. Paul is a busy man: he is starting his 9th year on the Mount Vernon select board, has a home inspection business, helps with his wife’s Belgrade Lakes bakery, Hello Good Pie, and has a very busy “day-job” as the IT Director for SaviLinx, a multi-state call center company. Paul’s most recent term on the FPIA Board began in 2020. Dean Sciaraffa, Vice President Dean is a semi-retired contractor who splits his time between the Portland area and Vienna. His camp is near the outlet of the Mill Stream. Dean’s career has been with H.B. Fleming, a commercial engineering and construction firm based in Maine. The FPIA is fortunate to have Dean as its resident dam expert. Dean has been on the Board for 20 years. Katie Dwelley, Treasurer Wendy Oakley, Secretary Wendy Oakley has returned to the board after a 10 year hiatus. She is a retired teacher, having specialized in Literacy and Early Childhood Education at UMF, USM and public schools. She and her husband lived and raised 2 sons in Farmington, before moving to Flying Pond in 2007. The view of the lake from their living room window (and swimming in clean lake water in the summer) feeds her soul. Doris Anderman Doris is a retired Special Education teacher. Flying Pond is her "Brigadoon" where she has vacationed with her family for over sixty years. She spends as much time as she can at the family camp known as Harvey's. When she is not at camp, Doris and her husband, Mark enjoy life in a beautiful valley nestled in North Central Pennsylvania. She enjoys volunteering at the local food bank and editing the FPIA Newsletter. Diane Araps, FPIA Newsletter Diane vacationed on the lake with her family in the late 60s until her parents built their camp in 1972. Since then, she has enjoyed memorable summers growing up on Flying Pond. Diane is an architectural illustrator specializing in aerial maps and wall murals. She is the designer/co-editor for the FPIA newsletter and proactive in creating FPIA community activities. Diane was elected to the board in 2021. Gary Cortelyou Gary’s family built a camp on Demariano Road when he was a child. When Gary and his wife retired, they left NJ and moved permanently to Vienna, while still using the camp during the summer. Gary is an excellent fisherman and has provided the fishing reports to the FPIA for years. He is a former county construction manager. His most recent term on the Board began in 2018. Chad Dwelley Chad and his young family are year-round residents of DeMariano Road; when not working from home, Chad commutes to Lewiston, where he is an electrical engineer in the utilities industry. The FPIA is grateful to Chad for taking care of the buoys on our lake. He joined the Board in 2018. Paul Fontaine Paul and his wife both grew up in Maine, and they love it so much that they spend summers at their camp on Vienna Shores, even though their year-round home is in California. Paul also serves as President of his road association. He is retired from a career in the cellular communications field. Paul was elected to the Board in 2019. Cindy Ripley, Membership, Communications, Newsletter Cindy, a retired science teacher, has been a part of the Flying Pond community since the 1970s with family camps in Vienna and Mt. Vernon. She manages the FPIA membership database, email account, and website and co-edits the Flying Pond Newsletter. Cindy serves on the Board of 30 Mile River Watershed Association and was first elected to the FPIA Board in 2014. |
